Company "F" is one of the oldest reenactment organizations that portrays a famous Bucktail company. Founded prior to the 125th Anniversary of the War between the States, the men of Company "F" dedicated themselves to preserving the honor of the original Bucktails. Through the years they kept the group as a military only organization which kept their numbers small. Today we are rebuilding as a family oriented organization which will swell our ranks within a short time. We have realized that the family is an integral part of our being able to honor the brave men of the Civil War. We will strive to bring an accurate interpretation of the activities of camp life on and off the field. We participate in a variety of living history events including programs for the National Park Service, schools, and battle reenactments throughout the east coast. Our main theater of reenacting is in the Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Delaware, Maryland, and Northern Virginia areas.
We are members of the Bucktail Regimental Association. We host a Camp of Instruction every year on South Mountain on the grounds that the original Bucktails fought so gallantly for. Through the Bucktail Regimental Association we are acquiring knowledge on how the actual Bucktails lived, fought, and survived during their service defending their country.
This is where we stand today, a family oriented organization, where we all come together to enjoy the hobby of reenacting. We will maintain two camps, the civilian camp, where the ladies and children camp with the men if they so choose, and a military camp, for the men who wish to experience true military life. Most of our socializing is done in the civilian camp.
Our aim is to make reenacting enjoyable for all concerned. Whether it is the men on the field, doing a historically accurate impression of the Civil War soldier, or the civilians in camp, it is our intention to make this hobby enjoyable for the whole family.
We look forward to hearing from you if you are interested in joining our reenacting family or if you just have questions about the Bucktails or reenacting in general.
