2008 DRAFT - DICE-K GOES #1! Chattahoochee Valley surprised many by going with pitcher Daisuke Matsuzaka as the first pick in the 2008 EMBA draft. Phillips Hughes, Alex Gordon, and Justin Upton rounded out the top 4. To the surprise of many, and the joy of one, Ryan Braun fell to 5th and was selected by Lincoln. See the draft grid here.

2007 DRAFT - DELMON YOUNG, RUSS MARTIN TAKEN 1-2 The Santa Fe Scouts opened the 2007 draft by selecting OF Delmon Young to a long term contract. Following the Scouts were the Mohonasen Warriors, who selected catcher Russ Martin 2nd. Martin figured to be a top 6 pick in many pre-draft conversations. Jared Weaver, Cole Hamels, Anibal Sanchez, and Stephen Drew rounded out the top 6. See full results here.

POST SEASON AWARDS
PLAYOFFS The divisional round is complete, with Blue Mountain (over Strongsville), New Oxford (over Harrisburg), Durham (over St. Louis) and Appleton (over Newark) advancing to the LCS. Durham and New Oxford have advanced to the World Series. In seven games, New Oxford defeated Durham 4 games to 3.
FALL BALL The playoff positions have all but been decided as it looks like Harrisburg, Strongsville, Blue Mountain, and New Oxford in the NL, and Newark, Appleton, St. Louis, and Durham in the AL.

Bridgewater celebrates as the Mechanics defeated Blue Mountain 4 games to 3 in the 2004 EMBA World Series. The Mechanics' bullpen was given the MVP award for the series; they had a combined 1.50 ERA in 30 innings and earned 3 wins.
