The Central Pennsylvania Chapter of the Fostoria Glass Society of America (CPAFGS) is a non-profit, regional organization. It was founded in April of 2001 as a study group of the Fostoria Glass Society of America. No specific geographic boundaries have been set for the membership, however its regional character is intended to facilitate communication between members. Our purpose is to support the Fostoria Glass Society of America, including its museum and programs; to promote the preservation, study and understanding of Fostoria glassware produced in the United States; to study the art and craft of elegant Fostoria glassware as well as the craftsmen who designed and made them; and to share knowledge and understanding with others, especially where it may benefit restorations, museums, and like institutions. |
Chapter members present a representative display of Fostoria's glassware, at the Eastern National Antiques Show and Sale at the Farm Show Complex in Harrisburg, PA. Members man the booth, answer questions, and sell Fostoria Glass Society literature, as well as sign up members. The Chapter enjoys meeting fellow glassware collectors and sharing stories and information. We will have a booth at the Spring Show (which will be April 24, and 25, 2009 at the same location). |
