Terry Luckenbach has been a modeler for more than 30 years, and flies sailplane competition, scale sailplane, slope and electric planes.

Before getting into modeling he manufactured fiberglass pleasure boats where he learned the composite molding trade.

Since he started modeling he has been making composite fuselages, wings and other items for his hobby.

This video is directed to the modeler who wants to make their own fuselage or other composite parts like cowls, wheel pants or any other composite items, but didn't know how to go about it.

The process which is demonstrated in this video is simple enough for the average modeler to do, and the materials are relatively inexpensive. It starts with a drawing of the part on paper and ends with the finished fuselage.

The model he uses in this video is the Pretty Mantis fuselage he designed a few years ago as a replacement fuselage for Tom Kiesling's Mantis competition sailplane.

Anyone who is thinking about making their own composite fuselage needs to see this video.
