Jim's
Classical Guitar Tabs
Hello classical guitarists and welcome to my classical guitar tab
page. I hope you will like the selections I offer here. These are
tabbed pieces I was not able to find on the web.
You are free to download and use these tabs in whatever way you
like. If you can improve on them great! Let me know and I will
add the improvement to this site. Please do not offer these tabs for
sale. If they help you in any way remember... you got them for
free.
If you find any mistakes, or have any suggestions or questions, please
write me and let me know. My e-mail is...
jamesjay@paonline.xom
Change the xom to com. This prevents my address from being detected by
web stalkers and I end up with piles of junk mail.
Important; Alignment of tabs.
If you see the tabs out of alignment... which makes them almost
impossible to read, you need to set your web browser to a
non-proportional font; usually the Courier font.
In IE it should appear ok but if not go to Tools; Internet options;
Fonts and change the plain text selection to Courier. Some versions
might have a Proportional entry. Change that to Courier.
In any of the Netscape browsers such as;
Netscape
Mozilla
Firefox
Look for the font settings in either Preferences or Options. Change the
font in the Monospace entry to Courier.
Opera browser; on the Tools menu go to Preferences; Fonts; click the
'webpage <pre>' selection and click 'choose'; set font to Courier
or Courier New.
If you're new to tabs and do not know how to read or write them I would
recommend Weed's Guitar Tab site. There you will find just about all
you need to know about guitar tablature as well as enough tabbed pieces
to keep you busy for a long time. He also has links to other sites as
well. The site is located... Here
At this point there are only 4 pieces because I just
started this
project a short while ago; [May 2005]. I do plan to add more as I
get them. All
tabs will have left hand fingerings. I believe this
will go a long way in helping you to learn a piece more quickly. Most
of these are the fingerings I
use
myself. Some are different from what the original score has but that's
OK because there ain't no universal law that says... "if you don't use
this particular fingering the great guitar monster will get you!"

Playing suggestions...
My bottom-line philosophy is that playing the classical guitar
ultimately takes place all in the mind. You can easily prove this by
attempting to play a piece while at the same time thinking of something
else or having a conversation with someone.
The best way to learn a piece is to play it as slowly as you are able
to execute it correctly. Playing
a musical instrument is something that is not natural, like walking or
breathing. Your goal is to train your mind & muscles to the point
where playing becomes natural.
If you make a mistake stop, analyze the mistake and work
on it until it is overcome. The way to successful execution of a
piece is to play it until you absolutely hate it! Ironically enough, if
you do that and achieve the ability to play the piece well... you will
end up loving it.
Play well; James Jay

Le Petite Moulin..
The Little Windmill; by Camille
Saint-Saens.
A fun piece not too hard to play. Good for an opening piece.
Rondo Allegretto.. by Matteo
Carcassi. This is a real fun
piece found in his
method.

From the Suite in A
minor by Sylvius Leopold Weiss. I looked all over the web for this
suite but could not find
it. It's one of my favorites. I do plan to add 2 more movements from
this suite in time.
Prelude;
Gavotte;
This piece has a Trio section which I am working on. Meanwhile the
gavotte can be played as a piece by itself.
