The first two are hosted by Yahoo and require no special software, however a Java enabled browser such as Netscape Navigator 4.0 or Microsoft Internet Explorer 4.0 or higher (with Java option enabled) is recommended. YahooChat provide a "pager" service to inform members (who may be online elsewhere) that other members have entered the conference room.
The first is private and only invited members may enter. Please Email for membership registration.
The second is public and may be entered by anyone who may find it via search engine, etc. Visit The The AdCC Public Conference Room
These services are free but you will be asked to register with Yahoo.
If you have version 3.0 or higher and Windows 95/98/NT or a Macintosh, simply click on a room name to enter Chat. If you use a different operating system, try choosing the HTML software rather than Java.
If your AOL browser is compatible and you still can't run the Java software, please check to make sure that your settings are correct.
2.Click on the WWW Button, and then select the Security tab.
3.Make sure that there is a check mark to the left of "Enable Java programs".
4.Also check to make sure that compressed graphics is turned off. To do this, click Web Graphics tab and make sure that the box next to Use Compressed Graphics is unchecked.
5.Remember to click OK when you are finished.

Please Note: Although we have done our best to make it compatible, our Java and HTML software do not work perfectly with AOL's server system. We apologize for any problems or delays you experience.
Currently, if you're a WebTV user you're only option is to use our HTML software. The WebTV browser isn't like Netscape or Internet Explorer in that it doesn't allow you to download and install "plug-ins" on a computer. We have spoken with WebTV, and they informed us that they are currently working on Java support for their browser. This should be available soon. When WebTV's Java support becomes available, you will be able to log into Yahoo! Chat using the Java software.

1 - go to "People Connection"
2 - click "Find a Chat"
3 - click on "Enter A Private Chat"
4 - enter the chat room name as ACCF chat.
Once in the room, either click in the upper right hand corner on the little red heart and add the room to your "Favorite Places List" which makes it even faster to enter the second time around. Or, under the "Go To" drop-down menu, you can highlight Favorite Places which will also add this link to your own list of Favorite Places for easy access.
This room is set up as a private chat which means no one will be able to enter or just wander in unless they know the exact name of the room. It is better this way to avoid any "unwelcome guests" who sometimes pop in inappropriately (which does happen in non-private chat rooms on a fairly regular basis). As far as I know, there is a maximum of about 24 people allowed per chat room so if we do happen to run into problems, another room can be set up as needed.
Unfortunately, only those on-line via AOL will be able to go in this particular chat room. Apparently for some reason, even though you may have AOL's Instant Messenger program, it doesn't allow access to the regular AOL members' chat options. Sharon Lane has set up an alternative chat room for anyone using the AOL Instant Messenger program.
The AOL Private ACCF chat room is already set up so anyone can go in at any
time. Please try it out if you get a chance and feel free to email me if you
have any problem finding it or getting to it. Hope this works for everyone.
Peace,
