Some things never change. This 1984 video is really no different in concept than the "hygiene" or "child birth" films that traveled the country all the way back to at least the 40's. This video tries to pass itself off as "a guide to the pleasures of sex." It even has a UCLA doctor, who is the "Director of the Human Sexuality Program" introducing the video. Really, this is no different that what Herschell Gordon Lewis was doing with movies like The Girl, The Body, And The Pill.
This video shows a lot of softcore sex scenes as a soothing female or male voice narrates, speaking about the many facets of sexuality. This "educational" video would have a lot more credibility if it wasn't full of porn stars. It's a pretty dull affair. Near the end of the movie, there's a section on "fantasy" and it has some fairly stylishly designed, avant gard sets, with the actors and actresses acting very bizarrely. If I had to guess, I'd say that the creators of Cafe Flesh had a hand in some of this section. This is the only interesting part. Well, there is one other interesting part. In the "self stimulation" section, Michelle Bauer briefly stands in front of a mirror, completely nude, and touches herself. Too bad there isn't a lot more of Michelle in this video to make it more interesting. This is for the Michelle Bauer completist only. I'll give the video a 1.
