Welcome from John Stuckey and Nancy Bartlett ... thus "NANJO"  became our kennel logo.  We live in South Central Pennsylvania, Harrisburg area.

We owned other breeds before our first Newfoundland.  After acquiring one Newfoundland, something seemed to be missing so we bought our second Newfoundland. This was better but there was still something that seemed to be missing. Two years went by, and then we did our first breeding with our foundation girl, Jassmean. She had four very good puppies, two of which become American Champions, and finally the thing that seemed to be missing was missing no more. NANJO  puppies were on the ground and playing in the kennel. This was fifteen years ago and we have been working at it ever since.

We have been a Pennsylvania State Licensed Kennel for 18+ years, and as such we are inspected by the Pennsylvania Dog Law Commission for the condition of the dogs and kennel areas, as well as maintaining records of the dogs' histories (shots, illnesses, etc.).  All State Inspections are unannounced, and we are proud to report that NANJO  Kennels has never had any violations.

We do Select Breedings, after all health testing has been completed on each dog.  Our breedings are based on the betterment of the Breed and the selection of future breeding stock.  When we do a breeding, we do many tests prior to the breeding, as well as during and after the whelping of the puppies. Before placing any puppies, they will be checked for hip movement, general health and heart clearance, and a written warranty will be issued for each puppy.

In the past, we have bred some very good champions, and we are presently working on five girls and three boys which will become future champions in the conformation ring.  We are planning to breed in the near future, and sometimes we have older Newfoundlands available if puppy rearing isn't fitting into your schedule.  If you think a Newfoundland is in your future plans, send us an e-mail or give us a call.  We would like to talk to you.
