Plastic Bag Cave - West Virginia

I was fortunate enough to be introduced to someone willing to invite me along on a caving trip during OTR and not too far away.  The cave offers more to be beauty than is immediately evident and found along the normal course through the cave.  There are some really gorgeous areas in this cave and surely many I haven't yet seen.

Here is our group before entering.  From left to right: Matt Saltzer, Grace Cooper, Alan Horn, Chad Grim, Jeff from Philly Grotto (of which I cannot remember his last name) and Nina Muller.  The cave entrance is pretty much directly behind Grace, down low.  It is a small, tight entrance with debris which washes in.  The first 90 feet or so of passage is low water crawlway.  It has been said that during wetter visits it is almost impassible.

This is a neat rimstone pocket.  There is running water at the base.

Be careful where you walk and for bats having sex.

It is about 6 feet to the ceiling here.

There is an area filled with crystals - some gray and some beige.

These formations are crazy.  They can't decide whether to grow down, up or any which way.  There is a room full of these - probably 15 clusters or more.  Each cluster has it's own personality and intricacies.
