Exploring and Digging in Walnut Ridge Cave

This Shippensburg area cave was gated by Allen Horn of the York Grotto.  I don't have a picture of the gate but he used metal and concrete and even added a little bit of art to the entrance.  This is not a large cave but does have a fairly big main passage.  We spent some time digging in an area that seems promising.  I have also heard that Allen continues to visit and dig.

This is Kevin Dunleavy and Allen Horn beside a very decorated wall.
I thought this floor formation was very interesting how it shows what I would describe as a grain like wood has.  Of course most flow stone, stalagmites and stalactites has such a grain to them but to see this on the surface is unusual.
Some ribbons and stalactites.
This is almost a column... It's just about to touch.
This is Chad Grim hanging out for a quick break from our dig.  We moved about 400 pounds of rack and dirt to find an area where you can stand up in a tiny room that has a lot of breakdown in it.  Perhaps this is what Allen is cleaning out.  Maybe it goes further????
