Pippin is seen here earning his Working Dog Excellent title under judge Steve Ross, June 15, 2003. The WDX is an award from the English Cocker Spaniel Club of America, but most of the other Spaniel parent clubs have a similar program. The object is to preserve the hunting instincts of the breed among show-bred Spaniels.

Pippin is seen here doing a retrieve on his final qualifying run towards his Junior Hunter title at the CESSCGA Hunt Test in Jackson GA, February 7, 2004. Even though he is an absolute fanatic about hunting, he almost aways delivers the bird directly back to Darin's hand! This image was taken by Stacy Lynn of Catamount Photography, 334-224-0929.

And here we see Pippin actually delivering the bird back to Darin's hand. Unfortunately on his next contact with a bird, the gunners missed and Pippin ran off to find it. He found the bird far afield in a hedgerow and flushed it up into the tree tops before returning to the field with Darin. We need to do more work on his call-off on fly-away birds. Water work is a big part of any hunt test, and Pippin does this portion of his job with more gusto than anything else. His water entry reminds many of an old-fashioned cannon-ball dive! This image was taken by Stacy Lynn of Catamount Photography, 334-224-0929.

Here Pippin is standing with his tongue hanging after giving Senior Hunter his best shot. While he did well, the standards for the Senior Hunters are much higher, so we have more practicing to do. This image was taken by Stacy Lynn of Catamount Photography, 334-224-0929.
