LIVER TREATS


2 1/2 Cups of whole wheat flour
1/2 Cup non-fat dry milk
1 Teaspoon sugar
6 Tablespoons margarine
1 Egg
3 Tablespoons liver powder (or ground freeze-dried liver)
1/2 Cup of cold water
  1. Mix ingredients. Knead dough for about 3 minutes. Dough should form a ball.
  2. Roll out to 1/2 inch thickness and cut into shapes. Place on lightly oiled cookie sheets.
  3. Bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes or until golden brown.

VEGETABLE FLAVORED DOG TREATS


1 1/2 Cups whole wheat flour
1 Cup rye or buckwheat flour
1/2 Cup powdered milk
1/2 Teaspoon of garlic powder
6 Teaspoons melted margarine
1 Egg
1 Teaspoon brown sugar
1/2 Cup ice water (or fluid from canned vegetables)
1 Cup pureed fresh, frozen or canned vegetables (broccoli, carrots, green beans, corn, etc.) or 2-3 tablespoons dried soup greens or dried soup mix
  1. Combine dry ingredients and mix in margarine until mixture resembles corn meal
  2. Mix in egg and add enough water (or vegetable fluid) to form a ball.
  3. With fingers, pat out dough 1/2 inch thick on lightly oiled cookie sheet. Cut with a knife or cookie cutter.
  4. Bake at 350 degrees for about 25-30 minutes and cool on racks.

OATMEAL-WHEAT GERM BISCUITS


3 Cups whole wheat or rye flour
3 Cups oatmeal
1/2 Cup regular wheat germ
6 Tablespoons margarine
1/4 Cup molasses
1 Cup evaporated milk
1 Cup water
  1. Mix dry ingredients together. Add remaining ingredients and blend until well mixed. Dough will be stiff.
  2. Chill for 1/2 hour.
  3. EITHER: Take rounded teaspoons of dough and roll into balls, flatten and place on a lightly greased cookie sheet. OR: Roll out to 1/2 inch thickness and cut into bone shapes and place on lightly greased cookie sheet.
  4. Bake at 300 degrees for one hour.

Peanut Butter Fat Balls (for adding weight)


2 Cups Dry Dog food 2 packs cream cheese 1 1/2 Cups Peanut Butter 1/2 Cup Corn Oil 1 Cup Cottage Cheese 1 pound Browned Hamburger (same some of the grease)
  1. blend dog food (crushed fine) and add remaining ingredients.
  2. Mix till you have a doughy mixture add more dog meal as needed if consistancy is too thin.
  3. On wax paper spread some meal and roll out mixture into log shape.
  4. Refrigerate til firm and slice as needed.
